Speaking to an underlining theme of the concept of identity and trying to fill an ever constant void, NOTGOOD.ENOUGH is a South African Contemporary Design Company. It was founded in 2018 by Lebogang Mokgoko and specialising in Handmade Contemporary Men’s and Women’s Ready-to-Wear Apparel.
Incorporating the idea of hybridization through juxtapositions of contrasting textures, signature paneling techniques and African motifs, the result is a collection of items that can transition easily between between various occasions with a distinctive elegance that is based on renderings and transformations of the basic and classical with references to both luxury and streetwear, to introduce audiences to a fresh perspective on Contemporary African identity.
In April 2019 NOTGOOD.ENOUGH was invited by African Fashion International (AFI) to showcase it’s debut A/W19 collection at Cape Town Fashion week as a part of their XAFI showcase. The company’s designs can be seen on internationally acclaimed artists such as Sho Majozi.
